Hi, I know you can not upgrade (in installed software sense) to win 10 enterprise. We have Microsoft user enterprise licenses which include windows 10.
Is it legal to download a copy of windows 10 and install on a previous windows home machine (not upgrade).
You can upgrade the license from Home to Pro / Enterprise with running the activation wizard typically and changing the Key. But if you download a new copy of Windows and try to install it over the device it won't do an inline upgrade but rather that is an option to clean install which will lead to you losing the data on the PC from formatting.
You can try the activation wizard, or you can look into the SLui version. A reference link below to both are outlined you can try.
This topic area includes legacy versions of Windows prior to Windows 2000: Windows 3/3.1, Windows 95 and Windows 98, plus any other Windows-related versions including Windows Mobile.
