Citrix login error after VDA version upgraded from 7.15 CU3 to 1912 CU1.
We have been using Citrix LTSR 7.15 with PVS
As we all know 7.15 LTSR version doesn’t support the Teams HDX Optimization.
So We want to upgrade the VDA version to 1912 CU1 with the same old DDCs (7.15ltsr) for Teams HDX Optimization.
For this, We have uninstalled the VDA version of 7.15 ltsr using VDA Cleanup utility and installed VDA version of 1912.
We are getting below signout error when we try to launch the app from upgraded version of VDA.
Please suggest on this.
Windows OS : 2016
DDC version : 7.15 LTSR CU3

If you are using version 1906.2 VDAs or higher with older Controller versions (for example, version 7.15), which do not have the policy available in Studio, you can still be optimized because HDX optimization for Microsoft Teams is enabled by default in the VDA.

What version of 7.15 were you on? Did you go to CU5 before going to 1912? Citrix do not say this is necessary but I have heard of issues around it.

I might try adding 7.15 CU5 as an intermediate step. Citrix say it should be supported but as I said I have heard of a few issues.

1. We utilized VDA cleanup utility and then a fresh re installation done on VDA with 7.15 CU5.
2. Now VDA launching fine.
But issue with MS Teams Audio and Video call. 7.15 LTSR version doesn’t support the Teams HDX Optimization.
Please suggest.

Yes, Now we have installed 1912
Modified below registry Key as per https://support.citrix.com/article/CTX218580 resolved the App Launching issue.

Remove any additional entry apart from "C:\Windows\system32\userinit.exe," at following registry pathHKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\Userinit
