Email Scammer

There was an email came from an gmail account to few members pretending as our CEOs personal account asking to buy gifts. Few of the team members responded to that email. CEO want us to trace that email if any scam happened on that post the response.

I did message trace and found there are 4 people responded to that email. Is there any way I can find what scam might have happened or investigate anything further?
