Synology NAS, which now reports 2 x WD30EFRX (3TB RED drives) as Failing

Last Modified: 2020-07-28
Synology NAS, which now reports 2 x WD30EFRX (3TB RED drives) as Failing, looking at the history of both disks, there are no errors, no retires, no I/O errors.

Synology NAS SMART Tests the disk every week, and reports at end of the month.

No issue, manually in Synology NAS, running Quick and Extended Tests reveals no issues ?

It is very odd, that both have entered Failing at the same time.

We have changed one today, to remove and test the Failing unit, to check it out.

These disks are listed on the Synology Compatibility List

(we also know these are not enterprise units, the NAS are Archive storage).

Any ideas ? Comments appreciated.
