Crack Windows 7 application (NOT OS) password

Hi, is anyone familiar with password cracking tools that can crack a Windows APPLICATION password?
I have tried many I found online but they crack the Windows OS, which I don't need. I need to crack a telephony application running on Windows 7. Please only send details of confirmed tools that can crack an APPLICATION. Thank you.

Hi Brian,
Thanks for letting me. I apologise. I will accept your solution and close the question.
@Brian B: I just re-read the Terms of Use, and I can't find any prohibition against discussing password hacking/cracking/recovery.  Just found Can you show it to me for future reference?  I don't want to accidentally violate EE TOU by commenting on a forbidden topic.  I did find this:

The Services and Site may be used only for lawful purposes. You may not use the Site to abuse other Members or to be involved in conduct that Experts Exchange finds objectionable. You must comply with all applicable local, state, national and international laws, regulations or conventions, including without limitation those related to data privacy, international communications, and exportation of technical or personal data. You may not use the Services or Site for any criminal or illegal activities or any activities that might be legally actionable.

But that would involve an assumption that Michael was contemplating an illegal activity, and I don't see any indication from his post that this might be the case, or why you might assume that.  I don't assume that a person asking a question about a programming language is a virus writer.  I see no need to assume a person asking about cracking a password is contemplating something illegal.

@Michael:  the terms "hacking" and "cracking" are sometimes assumed to be referring to illegal activities, even though the legality is a matter of authorization and intent.  For example password cracking is perfectly legitimate and legal when I help a client recover a password to a system they own or control that was lost or forgotten.  There are many other legitimate cases including law enforcement, used equipment, estate needs following a death, and more.  I suggest we use the term "owner-authorized password recovery" as an alternate term to refer to legitimate cases where someone needs to recover or reset a password to gain access to a system where they are authorized by the owner of the system to perform password recovery or reset activities.

First of all, other than some very general purpose "brute force" password discovery tools (that only work in very unsophisticated systems), there aren't a lot of "general purpose" password recovery tools - for the simple reason that passwords are encoded, transmitted, and stored in a wide variety of ways in different devices, operating systems, and applications.

To help you, at a bare minimum, a security professional would need to to know the specific software.  It may also be necessary to know the specific software version, and perhaps details of the platform where the software runs (for example, some software handles passwords differently in Windows vs Linux).

Tools for cracking specific application passwords must be designed individually.  You must know what you're cracking to be able to crack it.

Elcomsoft provides tools for certain popular applications, but a telephony app isn't listed.  A cracking tool may not exist for your app yet.
