How to remove Parallels from a Mac to free up disk space

my 500GB disk was just about filled, and I do not use the Windows partition any longer. So, I deleted Windows 7.pvm which was about 100 GB and even emptied it from my Trash.

But, the free disk space did not change!

I recall some partitioning in Parallels which I think I need to deal with.

How do I do this? Parallels is still installed, but that is Version 10.

Thanks.

Hi,

Please use any disk space analyzer tool, like disk expert, to check the occupied space.

I have a much older version of Parallels. But, I am losing my nerve. If my Mac gets fried, I am toast.

Thanks.

If you have an external backup there's no need to worry.

I any case you’re welcome and I’m glad I was able to help.

Hello,
Please check this article in order to find how much space different files or applications take up.
Also locate your VM with these instructions in order to confirm that you've completely removed it.
Do you have any .pvm files at Documents -> Parallels folder? Did you click on the "keep files" when you removed your VM?
Looking forward to your reply.
