GP: Direct Table to Table Copy

Hi:

An end user cannot use the conventional means of upgrading to the latest version of GP and must conduct a direct "table to table" copy of data from the production SQL to the test SQL server instead of using GP Utilities.

In other words, we're going to need to copy "transaction tables" of each module from the old to the new servers.

This is because their databases have corrupt data brought on by obsolete code of programmers that are no longer with that company.

Are there any issues with conducting this sort of copying of data?  Will SQL Linked Servers need to be set up?

Thanks!

Without more detail I would suggest looking at SSIS or some other ETL process or as you mention using linked servers if that is possible.
