Logs filling up despite deleting the cause!

My website logs on shared hosting are filling up, with thousands of entries like this:

176.31.104.153 - - [21/Jul/2020:09:42:18 +0100] "GET /gallery2/main.php?g2_view=core.UserAdmin&g2_subView=core.UserLogin&g2_return=/gallery2/main.php%3Fg2_itemId=601%26 HTTP/1.1" 404 215 "-" "Mozilla/5.0 (compatible; MJ12bot/v1.4.8; http://mj12bot.com/)"

Yesterday, I have deleted from the server, all /gallery2... folders and files, yet these logs are still appearing.

I would like someone to interpret the log entry for me and tell me why it is being logged at all.

Thanks.
