Help on OneNote Export error message of ' cannot pack these sections'
Hi Experts!
I always export my OneNote Notebooks every couple of months. Just recently I did the same export process and got this error message:
Also, I tried to export in other format like PDF, etc. ono-OneNote format file, and get similar error message.
Since this never happened, I think it could be caused by "Section Groups" I started setting up in all OneNote notebooks. The curious thing is that only one OneNote has this problem, all other which I add Section Groups, works.
Help please,
(also restarted the computer, same problem. Also went to OneNote and saw the OneNote notebooks and all are sync, they all have same data as my computer)

OneNote cannot pack these sections because some sections have not yet been fully synced and could not be downloaded. These pages will not be saved. Continue anyway?

Yes, tried sync manually and Shift-F9 but to no avail.
Did you try the workaround suggestion by Microsoft regarding sections? Under Sections won’t sync > then look at the steps beneath where it says “Individual notebook sections can occasionally stop syncing properly. If you have a single section that isn’t syncing with the rest of an otherwise up-to-date notebook...”

Yes, that's the same thing as 'right-click >> Notebook sync status' within the same OneNote page.
Done that prior placing question.

(but the sync did not work)
Came across your other post regarding the stuck sections. Did that OneNote update resolve this issue also?
ASKER
Yes it did!
And I think I should try the export with the update install.

Same error, so the update didn't work.
But I click "yes on the message " Continue anyway? ", maybe to see where it didn't backup maybe (let's see if it finishes)

Hmmm... u know what I did? I opened up an old OneNote Office 2010 and open the OneNote with the problem.
I checked all the sections groups and all the sections, and they are all there.
If the export is complete, why the message?

HI Jana,
Tell us more. First, why do you export and where are you exporting to? Second, is this a very large size notebook? To find the size, navigate to the source location in OneDrive and check the file size

For backup. Do it every other month (I know it's in the cloud, but mainly incase I need something deleted ot finished)
I export to c: drive then move somewhere else.is this a very large size notebook?

u know, makes sense. Though I am used to just exporting then backing those exports, I will use the OneNote backup process then after it finish, do my regular backup of that area instead of exporting. Also, the other part of moving sections to another area could be a an option .
Ok will take your entry as an answer.
Thanx!
