Steering Wheel Laptop Storage Device

I need a storage device that will allow me to quickly pull down my laptop when I am parked with the engine off.

Assistance in locating such a product (preferably on Amazon) would be greatly appreciated.

Maybe clarify what "pull down my laptop when I stop" might mean.

Almost sounds like your driving using your laptop. Unsure.

Just leave it closed on the back seat. When you stop your car get out and into the back seat and open it.
i don't think that it is legal to use a laptop while operation a motor vehicle. if the motor is running & you are at the wheel when you stop, you are still considered as operating the vehicle
If you’re referring to just working from your car while parked (completely immobile) then these would be options below. Otherwise, you of course cannot drive while using a laptop because that is illegal as Paul/others have stated. A laptop should not be used or placed in front of the steering wheel at all while a car is in motion (the engine cannot be running): as that would be distracted/dangerous driving which is against the law:

Computer Laptop Stand for Car

Amazon sells a bunch of them.  Useful when you're parked, because you can't actually steer with them..  https://www.amazon.com/steering-wheel-laptop-mount/s?k=steering+wheel+laptop+mount
What you're asking for, at least by my interpretation of your description, would likely be illegal in most if not all states and potentially distract you from the road with deadly consequences.  If you want to elaborate your use case, maybe we can get a better understanding of what you want/need, but short of that, I agree with the others and would also suggest you leave the laptop in your back seat and park to use it.

It would be better if it were attached as opposed to something that I had to attach separately.

When in motion, the laptop could simply be re-collapsed so that it is flat against the steering wheel.
When filling in your insurance application is there a section that asks if your car is modified from the manufacturer's spec? Do you think they will insure you when you say that you have a device permanently attached to your steering wheel with a laptop on it?
I suppose that it would be okay if it were detachable as long as the laptop could fold up flat and securely against the steering wheel.
Does your car have an airbag secreted in the middle of the steering wheel?

just wondering: what happens in the case of an accident & the air bag goes off - it seems to me that you would probably get the laptop  right in the face
Laptop would only be going about 100 MPH so wouldn't hurt much. A bit like this video, you can see how slow it is at 0:40 and 1:45

take a look at how police mount their laptops i the cruisers.  You need to rethink things.  The laptop cannot be in the drivers seat area. You need an unobstructed view of the road in front and around you and be able to view your instrument panel .

is this some attempt to circumvent the cell phone operation laws while driving?

Laptop would only be going about 100 MPH so wouldn't hurt much
that would definitely hurt me !!! that is pretty much the speed it would reach falling from several floors which is more than enough to crush your face and very likely kill you especially if you are already in the midst of an accident.

may i suggest you try and do the same thing with a tablet ? it is much easier to achieve, can quite easily bet put on a stand rather than on the wheel, may look like a gps to most cops... it even seems quite  meaningful to hook it somehow with the car so the screen blanks when the engine is started. and you are perfectly allowed to have a bluetooth keyboard on the front seat. or do you really have a need for a laptop ?
That's ingenious, a device that can be attached to the driver's seat and be positioned so that it obscures part of their field of view. Illegal to have attached when driving under the huge cardboard boxes in the passenger seat law here.
You only need to position it so that you can still see the mirror out the right window.

New cars have gigantic touch screens embedded in the dash.  Tesla just got sued for having Wiper controls only in their giant touchscreen, causing people to have accidents while trying to find it on the screen.  "It's the wave of the future."

This is a great recommendation by serialband that mentions a product by a company called Mount It. This product has made huge strides and I own one, but it doesn't work with a Windows Surface style laptop https://www.experts-exchange.com/questions/29190378/Steering-Wheel-Laptop-Storage-Device.html#a43135104.. The type of device that would work well with a Windows Surface device would be one that could be quickly and easily removed while driving, or left in place in a folded-up position while parked.
Remarkable timing serialband, https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-53666222 appeared yesterday. A month's ban for using the Tesla as designed.
