HP Probook 640 G2 Not seeing Thumb Drive

Hi all,

Has anyone experienced issues with their HP Probook 640 G2 not picking up an external thumb drive when plugging it into the side USB of the notebook itself, or using any external USB port from the docking station?  I can't seem to get windows to see my thumb drive.

However if I boot up (Thumb drive contains a bootable OS) it boots to it just fine meaning the system is seeing it.

I took the thumb drive out of my machine put it into my bosses machine and his machine picks it up just fine.

Ran all the updates USB devices are listed in windows (I have other USB devices plugged in but it seems just this thumb drive will not detect)

Help is always appreciated.

If these are USB ports, check that the USB 3 drivers are in.

I just commissioned some Dell 7020s and nothing plugged into any of the USB ports would work until I loaded the Intel USB 3 drivers.

you can also delete all usb devices from device manager and reboot - the drivers will re-install
now test again
