It's because your DNS server is pointing back to your own mail server.
If the mail server is TOTALLY off line, you can remove ALL references to it in your AD and DNS server.
Most likely, it's the autodiscover CNAME that's causing this.

No the old mail server is online, so how do I do that any tips?

Here you are just telling me the problem but no the solution, where should I go to and what to remove?

I'm not just telling you the problem, I was telling you the most probable solution first. You always solve problems step by step.
Since you answered your old mail server is online, you now have to tell all the details about it. In case you start criticizing again, know beforehand, we're no psychics here.
What is the function of the mail server (if you're going to Office365?)? What roles are still important on it etc etc.

I apologized, I was not trying to criticize, maybe I express myself in the wrong way, we have the old exchange on, until we are sure all is working, is there a screenshot you want me to show you? How all the DNS is setup or something? Please help and sorry again for my wrong approach.

So the old Exchange is now working along with Office 365 in some kind of hybrid mode? Which migration guide did you follow for that?
Or the old Exchange is basically doing nothing, but storing the old inactive mailboxes?

Author

Commented:
Yes the old exchange is basically as storage for now until we decided to remove it.

To start with, check if there's an CNAME or A record in your internal DNS server for:
autodiscover.yourdomain.com
Adjust or create it, to point it to autodiscover.outlook.com

Author

Commented:
There is not autodiscoverer assign in the Old mail server

I said adjust OR CREATE IT.

Ok will do that thank you I appreciated

Another question the autodiscovery will be autodiscovery.mydomain or autodiscovery.office365?

KimputerIT Manager

Commented:
In YOUR DNS server, add a CNAME for YOURDOMAIN.COM (FQDN)
so
autodiscover.yourdomain.com
points to
autodiscover.outlook.com

Alias:

autodiscover

FQDN:

autodiscover.outlook.com.

(Yes the extra dot at the end is NOT a typo)

Author

Commented:
Ok, thank you do I need to do something else after that?

Author

Commented:
Also I notice there is an space between the point and outlook
autodiscover. outlook.com.

Is that supposed to be like that?

Author

Commented:
Boss is still pointing back to the old mail server

The extra dot is due to bugs in EE interface.

Inside your LAN, open a cmd box and type in:
nslookup autodiscover.lineaships.com

Please post the output

There are 2 domains, main domain lineaships.com and subdomain prog.lineaships.com

Then now, create a TOTALLY new Outlook profile, and then add the Office 365 account.

edit: I just saw your extra post.
Please add another CNAME for
autodiscover.prog.lineaships.com
also pointing to autodiscover.outlook.com

AND THEN start a NEW Outlook profile.

Author

Commented:
Yes, I did that too, I created a new Outlook profile and nothing :(

Allow the Control Panel > Mail item, so user can create a new Outlook profile. Check if the published app is locked to a specific profile, if so, allow other profiles to be loaded.
