Transferring rules from Checkpoint to Watchguard

Hi guys

We're going to need to export a load of configurations and policies from Checkpoint firewalls onto Watchguard ones.

Have any of you used any methods to do something similar with the above mentioned vendors or other third party ones?

Did you just do it manually or have you used tools that can do this or did you use script?

Thanks for helping
Yash

Thank you Lieven, I appreciate the help there. I'm familiar with WG, however I was just wondering whether there was a way to get the rules in XML and at least imported. But, I agree that these are security kits and has encrypted data so it's a far fetch to want to attempt that.

There is another issue at play as well.
You have some company policy and that got translated into Checkpoint Rules - some things were changed because of non-exact matches for example.
You need to go from the ORIGINAL policies and translate them again to the new platform, and try to make it fit where it is too tight.

That might give the same rulesets if both platforms have the same quirks. Most probably there are different factors giving a new different ruleset.
