windows 10 very slow after 2004 update

Windows 10 is very slow after upgrading to recent 2004 update.
I have read many others having issues but is there a fix?  There are no other updates available so I'm assuming some driver incompatibility but unsure what to check.

I can move the mouse around on the screen and actually see it freeze about once every second so something is heavily impacting my system but can't tell from task manager.  - cpu at 13% memory at 29% disk at 13%.Any live video is unwatchable as the sound is impacted every second and the system stutters on playing sounds as well.
I don't know that it's the sound as I think it's the same performance issue causing everything.

That really sounds like a driver issue. Sadly there is not much you can do to find out directly which driver - you can check the system event log for suspicious warnings or errors. Other than that, you can only try to find updates for all drivers at the manufacturors' sites, or switch off as much as possible (at least for testing).
have you checked for updated video drivers?

there are fixes for a number of specific issues; general slowness could be anything

I have the latest video driver from Nvidia

I agree check if there are any updates available from your computer manufacturer site directly e.g. Dell, Lenovo, HP depends on the model you have. You could try updating drivers and the BIOS (firmware) for your computer.
I would first look at Task Manager, Performance to see if something stands out there as using a high amount of resources.  Resource Monitor can give you even better details.

I usually try to categorize speed issues (is it CPU, RAM, Disk, Network?) before attempting to fix them.
