David, I have used a similar type of device mentioned in your first link. It works well to convert VHS videos from the old movie cameras or the old videos people created from home videos, or converting videos that you have purchased.... but remember that it may be illegal to copy your purchased videos that are on VHS to another format, check with your jurisdiction. <br>I have copied lots of home videos to DVD or memory sticks for clients, I do not copy store bought movies &nbsp;to a different digital format for legality issues.&nbsp;
