What is benefit of configure the VPN on AWS instead of windows box directlty?

We have our e-commerce server on the AWS EC2 (Windows). This EC2 will communicate to our onsite server (windows) bi-directional. To make it more secure, we are configuring the VPN tunnel. But the configuration in AWS is complicated (for us) since we haven't done before. So one of our team members suggests configuring the VPN on top of the windows box instead of AWS. Since we have only one window box in the AWS ec2 and we will not going add in the future. What is advantage of configuring the VPN tunnel on the AWS Vs EC2 windows box?

Thank you, Ramasamy for your feedback. We are not going to add any more servers in the AWS in the future, that is we are sure. The current hardware configuration is enough to handle the VPN.
