Audacity Version for Windows 7 - Which Version to Install? What the Web Site says versus Reality..

Anyone out there in EE land using Audacity in Windows 7?
I mean really using it.
. The site says 2.3.3 is the most recent Windows 7 version but I'm curious if anyone out there in EE land has used more recent versions. I know what the site says. But I prefer a real user giving me their input.

If you go to the official site: https://www.audacityteam.org/download/windows/
It has Version 2.4.2 and says:
Audacity 2.4.2 is believed to work correctly on Windows 7, 8.1 and Vista, though please note that  7, 8 and Vista  obsolete and no longer supported by Microsoft.
You can get current details on releases at: https://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Audacity_Versions
If you scroll to the bottom of the above it will show the next anticipated Alpha Release and what changes it will have.
Also you can possibly be a  BETA tester of unreleased versions by going here: https://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/New_Builds_Team
There is also the Audacity Forum at https://forum.audacityteam.org/

Hi Wesley:

Are you using version 2.4.2 on Windows 7?
No, I use it with Windows 10 Pro, I took advantage of the free upgrade Microsoft offered a few years ago and upgrade all my computers to Windows 10.
you still can upgrade free
Right now I'm on a corporate PC and am using Windows 7,  I have no authority to upgrade to 10. Not yet anyway  ; )
