External "Mac ready" easystore External HD

I got an easystore 2T "Plug and Play" drive (that is USB) because it claims to be "Mac compatible." But, I Plug it in and the drive does not let Play, which to me means, create a folder and copy files to it.

To them, Play means to format it as a Time Machine drive.

But, I want TimeMachine nowhere near this drive. How do I use it as an old fashioned external drive?

Thanks

I need it for Mac Only, but file sizes much bigger the 4GB.

What do you suggest?
format with Disk Utility (cfr)
After that you will be able to do anything you like on your Mac
Also with big files
