should i do anyhting on switch side after doing nic teaming in server ?

hi,
i got server 2012 with 3 network cards and a dlink managed switch. 
i am planning to do nic teaming all 3 nic. if i do nic team on server... should i do any config on the 3 ports on switch side ???

It depends on how you configure NIC teaming on the server.  There's a mode where you assume a non-smart switch and you'd not have to do anything on the switch.  There's another where you assume otherwise and you'd need to program the switch accordingly.  Given that you have a managed switch, I'd suggest going in the latter mode.

I believe the modes are switch independent & switch dependent.

if I use switch independent - I don't need to do anything on switch
if I use switch dependent- I need to configure link aggregation.
am I correct with my understanding ??
