Cisco switch port reset make backup to run normal
hi Experts
I have a Cisco 3750 switch, two ports of it, one connected with server iSCSI adapter, the other one connected with iSCSI storage, usually the backup task running normally but sometimes it facing problem with very low speed, to fix this I have to reset the storage adapter or the switch ports so that the speed to normal, but several days it will happen again.
could you advice how to debug such issue?
thank you

hello
checked the storage not MTU or default MTU value from the storage setting, also looks like i could not configure MTU value for each port for Cisco 3750 switch, could only configure it globally.
to change port and cable not try it yet;
and yes in same subnet.
thank you

Try to change the cables first and make sure you are using cat6 cables.
Also make sure that working on 1g speed
What is your storage model?

Just a R510 with slightly tweaked firmware to change the splash screen during POST plus Windows Storage Server. You can check the Windows event log on it, the network speed may be changing so I would ensure it is fixed on servers and switch rather than left to auto negotiate.
strangely enough, this would likely indicate an applicative issue. my guess is reseting the network is what solves the issue.
first step is imho to enable jumbo frames on the switch, and then monitor logs on the client side

Configure mtu 9k to all gigabit interfaces.
3750(config)# system mtu jumbo 9000
3750(config)# exit
3750# wr
3750# reload

did you try to change switch ports / physical cables ?
did both on the same subnet or different subnet ?
