read emails in Apple iOS email app showing up as unread in Outlook desktop app

I am using the built-in Apple iOS email app to receive and read my Microsoft O365 email. After reading my email on the iPad, when I check it later in my Outlook desktop app, it still shows the e-mail is unread. If I do it in reverse, all is correct as unread.

Anyone know how to sync the read/unread issue from iOS to Outlook desktop app?

Sorry, I misread your initial post and have updated my comment suggestions:

If you have any pending iOS version/Software Updates on your iOS device too that could potentially impact your built-in apps like the mail app too.

Otherwise, may want to also test the Outlook Mail app in the store instead of the built-in app. You could test if there’s a difference there when you read emails from that app instead. I use the Outlook mail app, but also like Email by Edison.

If it works with the Outlook app or another, then perhaps you could try removing and re-adding your account to the built-in mail app. Or transition over to the Outlook app if it still doesn’t work.
