Hello,

we would like to allow users to be able connect any USB device specially webcams and microphones and be able to get them through their local client to their Citrix Virtual Desktop. We just want to block mass storage devices (USB flash, USD HDDs,etc). can someone please explain which Citrix policy do we need to configure? I am also looking for some advice on what other policies I should consider in order to improve HDX audio/video etc when running though the Virtual Desktop but coming from the user end point.

Thank you!

You don't need to configure any Citrix policy. Webcams and microphones should just connect. Block USB redirection policy should stop mass storage devices, but microphones and webcams should be ok.

Other policies to consider when improving audio and video are offloading policies, particularly the Teams optimization

Thanks James. But blocking USB redirection wouldn't block the redirection of any other USB device?

I can only speak to my current environment, but USB mass storage is blocked (by Usb redirection policies) but USB microphones and webcams work fine. I think this is because it is passthrough, not actual drive redirection, and controlled by the local device's Citrix client, not the policy on the user session.
