SSRS separate install from SSMS in SQL 2017?
1. Is this correct SSRS install is separate from SSMS starting with SQL 2017?
(Someone on the team is saying that). I always download SSMS to connect to the database. Not sure how it's related to SSRS.
He also says "The database does not need to be on a SQL 2017 instance, per an article i read. From what i've gathered we will need to buy a license though. "
2. Looks like the goal is to build APIs because he sent this. He says it's Rest API for SSRS. What is this link exactly? used to call the Reporting database tables?
