How do I get the data from an Excel pivot table

I have been sent a pivot table in an Excel spreadsheet.  This was produced by a database application.  We want to get to the actual data file.  There is no obvious data file in a tab on the spreadsheet, but it seems that the data must be in there somewhere because I can manipulate the pivot table.
Is it possible to somehow reverse the pivot table to get a simple spreadsheet list of the data table.
