Monitoring Live Streams To YouTube

Last Modified: 2020-10-29
Hello!  I am often live streaming multiple videos to YouTube simultaneously using a Mevo camera.  Is there any way to monitor them at one time to make sure none go down?  I am thinking about an app that shows tiles of each video.  Right now they are all in different channels but I can change that.
Thank you!

If I were doing this...

I'd likely write some sort of ffmpeg script to aggregate/montage all the feeds into a low res grid to watch.

Or... better yet... if all you require is a go/nogo check of camera functioning, you can just glom onto each camera's feed to determine if bitrate is high enough to show camera is working.

This would require running each camera through ffmpeg as a proxy, then dumping packet flow where some scripting language looks a the packet flow residue.

It's very easy to tell from transcode output, when a camera feed goes dead.

This type of coding is fairly simple. Just time consuming to get working.

Also, I'd only attempt this on Linux... maybe OSX... Windows... ouch... likely you'd never get this working on windows.
