I'm the new guy on the block and I'm part of a team that's designing a newsletter that's going out to a pretty sizeable group of people scattered all over the globe.
I suggested we use a Wordpress template. I was pretty stoked. I did a little research, found some cool looking templates and made my pitch in the context of a contemporary design that moves and catches your eye along with the ability to assign permissions etc. I thought it was a slam dunk.
Today, someone who didn't mention the links I sent out, started pumping Sharepoint. I'm not familiar with it. I found some samples and it looks decent, but I'm not at all certain that Sharepoint is going to give us this: https://kriesi.at/themes/enfold/
You only get one crack at a first impression. Most of what I've seen with Sharepoint is it's a storage facility more or less. I want to wow the masses with a magazine looking site that is comparable to the aforementioned link. Can Sharepoint deliver that kind of look and feel? Do I need to push back in this meeting?
What do you think?
