Where does VLC player store/save its recordings & convert video to a different aspect ratio

I played a video in a different Aspect Ratio (so as to 'widen' the video) & pressed
the red  'Record' button.  After that I press the same red button to stop recordin but
VLC never prompt me what's the filename I wish to save the recorded video as.

Q1:
Does it save it as some default filename or where does it save it too?

Q2:
Instead of re-recording the entire 2 hours of video to get a 'widened' video, is there
a quick way to convert the video to a different aspect ratio using VLC player (or
any other free tools)?

Thanks guys.

Clicked  VLC's  "Media" tab in the top menu & there's  "Convert/Save" which gives the screen below.
However, the "Convert/Save" button is greyed out.  What did I miss?

>it is 100% pointless to make a video bigger than the original size
The video was "squeezed" thus when I watch it on the TV, it's disproportionate,
so I just want to 'widen' it.  On PC, I can use VLC to 'widen' it but I'm watching on TV

Found that I have to "+Add" a video file & the "Convert/Save" button
will be enabled.  However, this screen does not let me choose the
'Aspect Ratio':
