Delay in Exchange Server
In exchange 2010 lately we have observed that there is a delay in the delivering the mails and upon investigation the message queue is bit long and end users complaining that they r observing 10 mints of general delay in receiving and sending mail. there are two DAGS and two CAS with a Mimecast in front of these servers.
the delay is when they are sending and receiving to outside the company or even inside it.
ASKER
In both ways
if the delay is internal and external, then exchange should be check, and if it's just for the outside, there is a probability that Mimecast is delaying them
ASKER
checked Mimecast as there is no delay as i can see big queue on the exchange server
did you check you network interface on exchange if it's loaded. try to ping any host from exchange
ASKER
yes interface is up and working

the reason of the delay is often due to remote servers temporarily rejecting your email because of some greylisting policy.
whatever the issue, the queue usually shows the reason of the delay. the logs might also provide some insight. start there
