Cannot ping server through Windows Server 2012 R2 VPN connection

I have a Windows 2012 R2 server acting as a file server and also the VPN server for remote office access. Remote users can connect to the local LAN via the VPN and ping all devices on the LAN except the server. This server is hosting a SYBase 16 database but is not responding to connections over the VPN. For local users everything is OK. For remote users the server is not available for the hosted database or file sharing.
This setup has been working properly for an extended period but has just today failed. Server has been rebooted with no success.

And guidance would be appreciated.
