it's hard to recover 10Gb for free, mainly any software in the market has a free version but it's limited to max 500 Mb or 1GB and the results are not sure.

In case yo need a good tool I suggest to check the below, test it before you purchase anyone

I had quite good results using this: https://www.ccleaner.com/recuva
But for 10GB, I have no clue... You may give it a shot!
If the data is really important, shut the computer off and pull the drive out.  Copy it to another drive and then try data recovery on one of the drives while connecting it as a second drive.  If you are running the OS from that drive, there is a risk of the data becoming less and less recoverable as the system writes to deleted areas of the drive.

We tried many free apps (Recuva, etc.) and they were able to recover files/folder but not as good as paid apps. Finally, we ended up with EaseUS Data Recovery For Windows. Never been disappointed. Usually, it was able to recover more than 90% of all data. Sure, it depends on how much is the HDD damaged, however, this is our experience.

If there is important data on the disk, consider taking it to experts.
I've purchased many moons ago https://www.lsoft.net/file-recovery/ and it did a great job.

Copy it to another drive and then try data recovery on one of the drives while connecting it as a second drive.
If data on drive A has to be rescued and you would just copy it to drive B, you cannot restore anything from drive B!!!
You'd have to clone drive A to B in a bitwise/sector manner to perform this!
@Alex:
you are correct... I wasn't careful with my choice of words.  I should have said "clone it to another drive...".
i also say stop using that drive if you need to recover from it - ithe data can be overwritten
i use GetDataBack for years, and like it very much.
you can doownload and install it for free - it will show what it can recover - up to you to pay for storing the data

I suppose, the bottom line would be: if you want some "pro" software, you'll need to spend some money ;-)
First thing is to not use the system.
test-disk is a fairly good tool, though much also depends on the setup. i.e. if they installed secure wipe tools.

download it to a USB
and run it from the USB
Note recovery should be done to yet another external HD or USB.
DO NOT RESTORE IT BACK to the drive....
