Troubleshooting Question

outlook calendar issue in a hybrid infrastructure

Hello Experts,

One of my customer is running into this issue. Mailboxes are hosted in MS365, company has a hybrid organization with Azure, Outlook client is MS Office 2016 professional.

Issue description

Client Mary Doe is receiving calendar alerts from her employee Lisa Stansfield, which results in duplicate reminders for many appointments.

She advises that Lisa used the share calendar option (calendar>>E-mail Calendar) to e-mail her calendar for next couple weeks  & now Mary is receiving e-mail alerts for all the items that were shared (examples below). From what I read online it doesn’t seem like it is even a feature to add all reminders from a shared calendar, but only from a specific item to “copy to calendar.”

I was expecting to find strange calendars show up for her, but I only saw a couple of resource accounts that she has that is not related to the reminders that are coming up.

As an additional test that it wasn’t just her specific PC, I had her remote into another workstation & we also received the reminders there. I also wanted to check the web version, but reminders were not popping up at the time.

I’m thinking we can confirm it was something that happened when the calendar was shared if we see the reminders stop after end of next week.
