Upgrading CPU on mother board not working

Hi Experts,

I was hoping someone could shed light on the info below.

a customer has tried to upgrade a the CPU with a AMD RYZEN 5000 series processor 9
but all he is getting is white lights.

i am presuming the lights are on the mother board. i am sorry thats all the info i got at the moment as i couldnt get s hold if him for more info.

could anyone afvise what the problem might be.

thank you all for your help i found the pins were slightly bent on the old and new processor, i fixed the bent pins on the old processor so he can upgrade the bios but as the cpu is under warranty i advised him to get it repaired where he purchased it. i also found faulty ram which i removed and the system came back up. It was a relief as i felt bad thinking the system wasnt working considering it looked very good. but good outcome in the end. but definitely the bios needs to be upgraded. thank you all for your support.
