I agree that it looks weird but it's supposed to be empty columns and the form boxes should be inside the drawn boxes.
This is the best one I have seen yet in terms of field completion and it is ideally what I am wanting for the Buyer's Order if possible.

Hi Ted,
> it's supposed to be empty columns
I don't understand. Are you saying that the Mileage column should be one large column or should it be a cell next to each vehicle? If the latter, why doesn't the Word file have the border line extended through the Mileage column?
> the form boxes should be inside the drawn boxes
For the most part, that's what the PDF that I posted has, other than (1) some fields beginning to the right of the field name (such as Date, Address, City, Zip Code. etc.) and (2) the giant Mileage column (again, because there are no border lines extending through the Mileage column).

I'm unclear on what that one has that the one I created doesn't have, other than the two issues I mentioned above. Is there anything else about the one I created that you don't like? Regards, Joe

Hey Ted, all of this is pretty easy to do on your own. I used Adobe Acrobat Pro DC https://acrobat.adobe.com/us/en/acrobat/acrobat-pro.html
If I take your word file, open it in Acrobat, convert to pdf and then open the form tool, most of the fields automatically fill in. From there it is just a matter of drawing boxes where you want the fields to be and naming them to something unique.
That's it. There are other options but if you are going to be working with forms, it is well worth the price to get Acrobat or other PDF creating programs to do just this.

Likely a more robust approach will be to use Adobe or LibreOffice to create a PDF from the start.
Converting .doc/.docx files to .pdf files generally tends to create artifacts that show up oddly in various PDF tools.

Looks as if your Word file is missing lines in the Mileage column. I made no attempt to fix it, so when I ran it through the form creator (PDF attached), it made that column one giant field (clearly, not what you want). If you fix it in Word, I'll create a new, editable PDF for you. Regards, Joe
