What browser will work on a vista window OS?

I'm trying to get internet help with files and operating system changes on a vista OS laptop.  I'm getting error messages that I can't get software connections to work, and that some browsers don't support the old vista version OS.  Is there any browser that will work?

Use the built-in browser Internet Explorer.
The built in IE version probably won't work very well for much without updating it. The latest is version 9.0.195, but even then you will find support and security issues. Better off to use Chrome.

In case you don't want internet explorer you can install opera. But I suggest to upgrade your OS to windows 7 since windows 10 is not supported.
Side note:  Microsoft dropped all Windows Update support for Vista in August of this year.  So you can't even get root certificate updates any more.  That being the case you might as well turn off Windows Update as it can now do nothing.

It would be prudent to get off Vista and onto Windows 7 while it is still possible to do that.
My plan is to get off windows - LINUX instead.  But in the transition, I have to work around vista. Once LINUX is on the computer, a whole new range of workable solutions emerge - and of course, some problems besides.  But they won't be windows problems, will they?
