Unifi AP AC PRO Management Interfaces

I'm working to use a Unifi AP AC PRO in a one-off simple configuration per site.  Not much to set up really.
I've been having trouble getting the GUI interface to work at all.
The computer I used to set the device up in the first place, now says No Device Found.  Yet, the device can be pinged and I've rebooted it.
Another computer is stuck on saving ace.jar - which is a useless path.
Some suggest using the CLI such as it is.
I need these things to be reliable and to be manageable.  What's the secret?
I know there are folks here in EE who use them...

kevinhsieh:  Sorry, I tried to say that I'd been able to configure the device - which was using the UniFi Controller.
But then, I couldn't get the UniFi Controller to work again as I tried to describe.  I'm working with two computers to try to get it going but it's pretty difficult it appears.
I'm afraid if I fix the ace.jar problem that then I'll stil have the No Device Found issue on THAT computer.
So, I'm doing what I can on the No Device Found computer / software....
is the AC PRO led white, blinking blue, or blue?
David Johnson:  Right now it appears to be white.

I did find (and fixed)  the ace.jar problem I believe.
The desktop shortcut was set up with
"Target:" = C:\users\fred\Ubiquiti Unifi\lib\ace.jar
Some reading suggested it should be:
"Target:" = javaw.exe -jar "C:\users\fred\Ubiquiti Unifi\lib\ace.jar" ui

Doing a clean uninstall of Unifi Controller and reinstalling it, seems to have fixed the login problem as well.
But, from what I'm reading, I'm leery that this may be a frequent task.  That would NOT be good.
Editing the shortcut accordingly, fixed that problem!
This was with  6.0.41
