I have used Revo Uninstaller in the past to get rid of applications that simply won't uninstall.

I don't see the program in the control panel and the only name I have is shown in the image. I thought the files would be hidden somewhere. Since it was removed I don't know the name of it. I could find and download it again but that might (?) create new files and still leave the old ones behind after using REV.

I would try to find the process in Task Manager. Then open the process location and delete the entire folder. Then scan your computer.

Edward a redownload of Rev opens the program list and the Easy Cutter is not there on the list.
i use a free version of IObit Uninstaller to remove software from my PC - it has never failed me.

I looked in task manager and don't see it. Both suggested removers open up the program list and it's not there due to the removal I did yesterday.
Hi Nick,

The update may be a scheduled task that runs daily via the Task Scheduler. If you're not familiar with Task Scheduler, my five-minute EE video Micro Tutorial will get you going on it:
How to use the Windows Task Scheduler - An Introduction

Look for a scheduled task somewhere in Task Scheduler and delete it. Regards, Joe
but it may be under a different name (ex. - update Free easy cutter)

try searching for Cutter using the Windows search bar
Paul makes a great point...there's no telling what the name of the scheduled task will be...it's whatever the software vendor decided to call it. But with some luck the name will clearly identify the update task for Free Easy MP3 Cutter...IF, indeed, it is coming from Task Scheduler.
when all else fails sysinternals autoruns should be able to locate it.

I used the search window lower left and it failed to open task schedular and now the search window is missing. I assume reboot will fix that. Since I hit x or update for the program, it may be quite hidden in some way. I'll reboot and then when I see the message I'll do nothing with it but go look for it in the places suggested.

Paul it was there and I disabled it.
I can't reboot until after 6pm.
Nick,
To run Task Scheduler, click the Start button, scroll down to the Windows Administrative Tools group, then click it and scroll down to the Task Scheduler item in it and click that. When you're in Task Scheduler, expand each entry in the left panel and then look for a task in the right panel that has a name that would lead you to believe it is the update task for Free Easy MP3 Cutter. Examples of other update tasks in there are Adobe Acrobat Update Task, GoogleUpdateTaskMachineCore, etc. Keep in mind that it may not be in there...that's just a guess on my part. Regards, Joe

You will not see the process in the scheduled task as it is an adware for your browser.

You need to uninstall / reset your default browser or follow the guide below to remove the adware.

Follow
You may be able to see or delete the executable file behind it. I would perform a search through Windows File Explorer then the Programs Folders for discovering remnants of the program files there.  It may be called “Free Sound Recorder,” so you could do a search for keywords and the abbreviation of the executable name such as:

  FFProductUpdater.exe

 MP3Cutter.exe

EasyMP3.exe

FSProductUpdater.exe

FSRProductUpdater.exe

Or the initials at least:

FSP

FFP

FSR

The easiest method was suggested by Paul,
Task manager and start menu > disable did it as far as stopping the update message.

thanks
You have a workaround but not the solution. You stopped it for now but you didn't remove it. I suggest this. Open the Startup tab again -> right-click on the item you disabled and click Open file location. Then see the name of the parent folder and verify that nothing similar is installed on your computer. If not, remove the .exe file or the entire folder to get rid of it for good

Hello there Hello,
I'll try that. Thanks.
@Hello There is correct - right click on the disabled item in the Start-up list and select Open file location - you should see a .exe file.

i would use IObit Uninstaller 10 Free (https://www.iobit.com/en/advanceduninstaller.php) to remove it completely
