Cannot install Kofax PaperPort Professional 14.7

I did a proper uninstallation of PaperPort. I even ran the official PP14 Remover Tool. But when you try to reinstall PaperPort, you get the dialog box below, which you can't get past. There is simply no way to install PaperPort! This article presents a solution that has worked for many PP users.

did you try a system restore to a date  it was still ok?

I wanted to do a system restore but did not have the right date and time to do it..  Thanks
Hi Glenn,

Thanks for the PMs and letting me know what the problem was beyond the summary in my "PaperPort will not install..." article and that you solved the problem by doing this:

(1) Reinstalling PP14.7 (using your PP14.5 serial number, as discussed in my EE article and five-minute EE video Micro Tutorial).

(2) Installing the correct TWAIN driver for your new Canon scanner and selecting that in the PaperPort options, as shown in the "Select Scanner" screenshot in another one of my EE articles.
