If the browser isn't the correct size, you might see the icon instead:

If it is a Discussion in a Group instead of a Question, look for the eyeball on the top left:

slightwv: The bell icon shows my notifications, but does not appear to disable any further notifications for a question.

The bell icon in the question itself NOT at the top of the page...

Notice the image I attached.  The bell icon I highlighted is in the question not the top of the page.

You may not see if if your browser window is large enough to see the "Stop Monitoring" text.

If you want to experiment, make your browser window narrower and see if the text changes to icons.
slightwv, I've already marked the solution. The "stop monitoring" choice was at the bottom of the question, and that was the one place I didn't look. I looked at the top and bottom of the page. Then I searched for this text and found it. Thanks for your help. I am now unmonitoring this question.
OOps! I can't find "stop monitoring" on this page.

I will try deleting it.
Nope. I can't find a way to delete it. I am a new user and finding EE very strange and sometimes difficult to use.

slightwv (䄆 Netminder) Thank you! I understand now.
If there was a tutorial for using EE, I must have missed it when I joined, sorry.
