How do you pronounce 3.1, 3.14 and 3.142 in American English?

In my experience It depends
If you're referring to monetary or quantity amounts, then Three-Hundred sixty-six would be prevalent
However if you're referring to an address etc then 3-6-6 would more likely be prevalent
As far as "decimal", I've heard and have used decimal and even "dot". I can't really recall hearing much less ever using "point"

It is specifically decimal fractions that I ask about. In UK 2.42 is "two point four two" not "two point forty two" but is that the same in USA?
