inserting a pdf into powerpoint
I am trying to import a PDF file into powerpoint and the quality is greatly reduced when I do. I have tried dragging the pdf and inserting as an object. When I double click the PDF it looks fine. Very crisp and clear. This is for a book. The PDF is a barcode.

If you don't have a full copy of Acrobat, open it in Reader, zoom in (to make it higher resolution), take a screen shot, then paste that into Paint, crop it and save as PNG format. Then use that file in PowerPoint.
Hi there mkramer, you know I have to ask: Can you tell me more about your desired result? Is the final product to be an ebook? If so, when you convert the powerpoint to a pdf, you might have other issues. Can you just insert a link to the pdf?

Here is the problem that I don't understand. I used my imac with powerpoint 2011 to make a book. When I insert the barcode it is very clear. Then on my windows 10 pro computer with powerpoint 365 I do the same process and the barcode is blurry. I don't understand why it is different. I see no reason why I shouldn't be able to insert or drag this pdf and it comes over as full res.
Karen: I will try and insert the pdf as a link. If I do this, will i be able to export the presentation as a single pdf and the barcode that was inserted will be part of it?

Hi MKramer, I really think that is your best option. You can certainly test it at any time by doing a File Export to Pdf and check it out!
PowerPoint for Mac includes PDF as a picture format, PowerPoint for Windows does not. This is because macOS has built-in support for PDFs, unlike Windows.
