Adding A Node into existing Hyper-V Cluster

We have two nodes Hyper-V cluster with ISCSI shared storage. I will add the new node into existing cluster. However, i have concern about adding the same ISCSI storage block/volumes to new server.

When actual we need to mount them on new servers, before adding the server into cluster or after adding the sever into cluster to avoid any corruption on shared storage?

If I map the existing iSCSI disks to my new node before it's part of the cluster, there's a risk of conflict/corruption because 2 nodes would be accessing the disk at the same time.

You must add it to the cluster before mapping the shared storage to it, otherwise it may write to the shared disk and corrupt it. You are meant to shut the cluster down first so that the validate configuration wizard can be run, however there is a workaround to add it live so long as you have a little bit of spare space on your SAN to create a temporary LUN that is not in use by the cluster so the wizard can use that instead of live storage. That workaround is described in https://gallery.technet.microsoft.com/Add-a-Node-to-a-Hyper-V-f12529b8

You should be using LUN masking on your SAN so only cluster nodes can see the storage if so the wizard won't even see the live drives, just the temporary test one.

I had added the node without any downtime.

1. Add the storage to new nodes.
2. Add the new nodes in cluster. But kindly note that fail-over cluster should be run by unchecking the storage part.
