windows 2008 dynamic disk e can not expend after underlay storage EBS increased

I have customer has C D E disk, and E disk is nearly fully and is dynamic disk, howerver after customer add more unlocated space to E disk for example add 500G, however while he want expend disk size in windows 2008 disk management, he found that the expend is gray out, any ideas about that,
Thank you

The "Extend Volume" function of Windows 2008 Disk Management snap-in only works with contiguous unallocated space on the right side of the partition you would like to extend...

does the unallocated space show up to the right of the existing allocated space ?
For a dynamic disk, you should be able to expand into any unallocated space on any disk which would create a spanned volume.

Are you able to post a picture of the disk configuration in Disk Management?

Maybe it's MBR and already 2 TiB, although span would still work. As per above need screenshots.
Does the available space show up in Disk Management?  You usually need to right-click on Disk Management and click Refresh for the additional storage to show.

thank you all for supporting of give advice, I ask customer to give image AMI so I can have more information study it, as per request the screenshot is showing below, the disk 2 add  500 GB unallocated, and can not expend, I will get infor tomorrow until I got customer AMI,  Thank you very much for helping expenddisk.png
I think andyalder has the answer above.  The image shows that the disk is already 2TB.  If the disk is configured as an MBR disk, the maximum size is 2TB.
Can't read the language, are they MBR or GPT because if it is MBR they need to shrink it back to 2TiB and create another LUN instead. Shrinking is probably not allowed on the storage, and if you shrink by too much you wipe data out!
thank you very much @Daryl Ponting and@andyalder   I need find way to verify it, customer data to big to make AMI to share to my end,my question is how to see it is mbr from GUI or command, and how to shrink it back to 2TB to expend add more space
Right-click on the disk and select Properties.  Go to the Volumes tab.  Look at 'Partition style'.

thank you very much, @Daryl Ponting  I will ask customer to do verifying tomorrow

hello expert due to disk is too big, customer is reply slow , however we think it maybe GPT Striped volume, how to expend it size? thank you very much for supporting
Ok looking again at the picture, I can see it's a spanned volume (not a striped volume).  The volume is spanned across Disk 1 and Disk 2.

<edited: this bit was incorrect>

You should be able to extend the volume onto another disk though.  Therefore, I would add another disk and then see if you can expand the volume by using the third disk.

Thank you for replying , due to it is customer vm on cloud, I did not know why they put disk like that, if I can not get their AMI, so I have set up test vm like them, and I will give feedback if I got verify solution

That it is already spanned suggests strongly that it is *not* GPT. Spanning with dynamic disks was how you made volumes greater than 2TB before GPT was available, I first used that trick with NT4 long before GPT was invented. You cannot setup a test VM that duplicates their setup without knowing whether their setup is MBR or GPT.

thank you for reply, sorry did not find verify solution, currently customer seems resovled their cases but not provide responds,  I will ask them while have time.
Trying to replicate on my laptop but I can't convert VHDX based virtual disk to dynamic and then to GPT to test and don't have access to real volumes that size.
