AWS pricing is a foreign language to me but I've been asked by a customer to get some pricing estimates to run virtual Windows 10 desktops in AWS. &nbsp;They currently have a number of SQL already in AWS that were setup by a different company. &nbsp;The end users are application developers. &nbsp;Their current physical workstations are generally i7, 16-32Gb, and 500Gb ssd. &nbsp;Looking for similar specs with AWS.<br><br>The very little I do know is we would have to build the image ourselves and upload it. &nbsp;Also, we would be responsible for all of the Microsoft licensing.<br><br>Thank you in advanced

Virtual Desktop AWS

Virtualization is the act of creating a virtual (rather than actual) version of something, including (but not limited to) a virtual computer hardware platform, operating system (OS), storage device, or computer network resources. Virtualization is usually the creation of a system that executes separate from the underlying hardware resources, or the creation of an entire desktop for systems located elsewhere, similar to thin clients.

Amazon Web Services (AWS), is a collection of remote computing services, also called web services, that make up a cloud-computing platform  operated from 11 geographical regions across the world. The most central and well-known of these services include Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud, also known as "EC2", and Amazon Simple Storage Service, also known as "S3". Other services include Elastic MapReduce (EMR), Route 53 (a DNS web service),  provides a highly available and scalable Domain Name System (DNS) web service, Virtual Private Cloud (VPC), storage, database, deployment and application services.

A desktop computer is a personal computer designed for use at a single location due to its size and power requirements, usually by one person. The most common configuration has a case that houses the power supply, motherboard, disk storage (usually one or more hard disk drives and optical disc drives); a keyboard and mouse for input; and computer monitor and printer for output. The case may be oriented horizontally and placed atop a desk or vertically and placed underneath or beside a desk.
