Image Heavy Word File > PDF - Reduce Loss of Image Quality?

Hi,

Have a Word file that's largely images, with a few text comments prefacing or in the headers.
Using Word's built-in convert to PDF the images come out pretty lossy.
Using Word's built-in print to PDF the images come out pretty lossy.
Used Bullzip Print to PDF - nearly the same.

Is there any type of software I can use that will convert a Word File to PDF without huge cost to the quality of images?

Sadly, I googled
higher resolution images word to pdf
And, the number one result was: Asked 7 years, 5 months ago  Active 16 days ago  Viewed 241k times

Most of the answers resolve into contradictions.

What's the best way?

Sincerely,

OT

What format are the images? What resolution? Can you post before and after screen shots that show the problem? I don't see a drastic loss of image quality from Word unless I first compress the images or use low-res images to start with. You'll get the best results printing through Adobe Acrobat, but it is pricey.
