Do I need to learn SSAS?

Hello,
I been using SSRS and Power BI to create reports for a while now but I've never felt the need to use SSAS or having a cube as a source of data. the manager is suggesting that I learn SSAS because he heard it's helpful and no one in my team is using it. I did some googling and found it's relatively old technology and the most helpful thing using SSAS is to build a cube that will help the performance. so far we are not having any performance issues with any of the reports even the large ones. so is it really worth it? and what could be another advantage that we can have from it?
