Troubleshooting Question

vm fails to boot after updates

Last Modified: 2021-04-12
We have a Windows server 2016 R2 hyperv server running our DC as a VM. We have just installed some updates and restarted the VM. Unfortunately, the VM now fails to start and has a BSOD with stop code 0xc00002e2.

I have tried the restrat in safe mode, and it hits the same BSOD.

I have tried to start on directory service repair mode, and each time it tries to install the updates, fails and then we see the undoing changes. Dont turn off your computer.

It takes about 40 mins for this to complete, but the BSOD returns on startup, and when running the directory service repair mode.

I am a little stuck now on what to do, so can anyone advise what we need to do to get the vm running again?

Any help very much appreciated.
