HP OfficeJet 8610 Driver No Longer Available
Hi:
HP Support is not online currently. Otherwise, I would pose this question to them.
For a while, my HP 8610 All in One Printer was printing documents from my Windows 10 Lenovo Ideapad3 laptop.
Then, about two weeks ago, it stopped having the ability to print for some reason. Devices and Printers says that the driver is unavailable. So, I cannot add the printer.
I went to HP's website, downloaded the driver, and ran through installation.
Same result.
How can I get the printer to print again? It can scan and fax. But, again, it no longer prints like it once did.
Thanks!

Hi Darrell:
Where do I find the driver to uninstall? I don't see it in Device Manager.

Try the HP Print & Scan Doctor tool

I thought this older community case post in HP was interesting too
Probably not ideal if a lot of changes have been made over two weeks but if you had a System Restore point available you could use it
It would be interesting to test if the driver or printing works under a new user profile or another Windows account
Do you see additional errors in Errors in Event Viewer? Process Monitor can be installed for troubleshooting installation failures too or registry issues. Capture the events during the install

Here's my general procedure to uninstall printers.
- Go to Devices & Printers and delete the printer.
- Go to Control Panel > Programs & Features and uninstall any software related to the printer.
- Go back to Devices & Printers, click on any other listed printer driver, and then select "Print Server Properties" from the menu that appears.
- Click the Drivers tab and remove any instances of the printer from the list.
Uninstall the driver from Windows.
Reboot the computer.
Re-install the driver.
Reconnect the printer to the computer when instructed to do so by the driver.
