My Brother HL-L8360CDW series Printer is printing pages with streaks of blue across the page. How can this be corrected?

I am printing a color image which does not come out clear but has streaks of blue across the image. I tried to clear it by accessing the toner cartridges and cleaning the corona wires. It didn't help. Should I replace the 3rd party cartridges with Brother cartridges?

Do you get "streaks" on blank pages sent to the printer too... have you checked + cleaned the rollers?

I don't get blue streaks on blank pages. I don't believe I have access to the rollers in my model

I have tried the cleaning procedures briefly but then I contacted Brother and they said the problem was that I had some 3rd party toners so I ordered genuine Brother toner and I'm waiting for them. Robert Retzer basically said the same thing so when I get the new toners, I'll report back
If the streaks are cyan coloured, the problem is most likely with the cyan drum (not the cartridge).

Before replacing the drum, remove the existing unit, and check and clean the cyan drum (they have colour labels). It can be pulled out from the front after opening the front cover. Instructions for removal and cleaning are here. Cleaning should be dome with a dry cotton swab. As a last resort you can try isopropyl alcohol. That may affect the drum surface, so try it only if nothing else works.

Unfortunately, it appears that, in your printer, all 4 drums come in one unit, so, if cleaning does not help, you need to replace all at once - at a cost of over $250.00

It is possible that 3rd party toner is more likely to cause drum problems, but that would only be applicable if your problem is caused by toner stuck to the drum, not if anything else is stuck.

Note that the drum is a consumable, rated at 30,000 to 50,000 pages. If your printer has printed significantly less than that, you may want to ask for a warranty replacement.

I received the genuine Brother toners and the problem appears to be fixed.

My printer stopped printing at one point and I contacted Brother and they ended up sending me a new drum as part of their analysis of the problem. I had my printer repaired locally and did not use the new drum.
