Norton reports intrusion attempt
For the past month, Norton 360 (on a Windows 7 32-bit platform) reports an identical intrusion attempt, every few minutes. I've attached screenshots of the intrusion warning and the details shown by the Norton application. I don't have a use for Telnet, so I renamed Windows\System32\tlntsvr.exe to tlntsvrxxx.exe, but the warnings continue. If the intrusion is attempting to take advantage of a vulnerability in Telnet, I don't understand how that can continue, after renaming the allegedly-vulnerable file.Image1.jpg Image2.jpg

Thank you. I can format the drive and restore a disk image from before the issue developed. However, if Malwarebytes runs a scan every day, I'm not clear how malware could persist on that system drive?
What results do Malwarebytes show? Is it quarantining it or showing no threats. I was reading about your other question

It sounds like it is time to reinstall Windows or even move to Windows 10. Sounds like there are corrupt or damaged system files and that can cause more vulnerabilities and problems on 7. Your issue here may be tied to the corrupt system files.

No threats detected. I will restore a saved disk image. Thanks to both Experts!!
