This is a result of the permissions for the account that is doing the RDP'ing. If you remote in w/ a domain admin account, you'll see the shutdown/restart options. This can be adjusted w/ a group policy and/or permissions modifications.<br><br>

Thanks for your interest in my question.<br><br>I did the test, opened the session in Dameware and saw that Sleep/Shut down/restart are available. I then opened the RDP session (Dameware was kicked out) and the RDP session now only shows Disconnect.

Andrew, I tried with both admin and non-admin accounts and they both are not showing the options on that particular computer. Using the exact same account on another computer, I see the options.

It is probably this: inside the GPO which governs the user right assignment, the authenticated users group is not part of &quot;shut down the system&quot;, while &quot;interactive logon&quot; is and &quot;remote interactive logon&quot; ain't. Please verify that using <br />

Tried it out (my theory).<br />
If one configures the following user right assignment:<br />
Shutdown the system: administrators, interactive<br />
Then all interactive users would be able to shutdown, including RDP users.<br />

If you configured<br />
Shutdown the system: administrators, remote interactive logon<br />
Then all RDP user would be allowed to shutdown, but not standard users that logon locally.<br />
<br />
You will have noticed that the scenario you see is not among those two. It cannot be configured and thus seems to be an error.<br />
If your repairs don't help, I would suggest to reinstall, else, there's not much to look for, maybe some malfunction of 3rd party management software?
